The AICRP on Arid Zone Fruits aims to develop horticultural technologies with focus on region specific problems with following mandates.

• Germplasm collection, conservation and utilization for arid fruit crops.
• Development of cultivars for higher yield, quality and tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses.
• Development of region specific agro-techniques for sustainable quality production of arid fruit crops.
• Multi location testing of varieties and technologies.
• Evolving cost-effective disease and insect-pest management practices
• Linkages with development departments, KVK, NGOs, etc. for dissemination of technologies and production of quality planting materials.
